Diese Europäische Norm legt die Eigenschaften von hermetischen festen Steckverbindern mit quadratischem Montageflansch in der Familie der elektrischen Rundsteckverbinder mit dreigängiger Gewinde-Schnellkupp-lung fest. Sie gilt für die in Tabelle 3 angegebenen Bauformen. Die Kontakte sind nicht lösbar und haben einen Lötanschluss. Hinsichtlich freier Steckverbinder und Schutzkappen, siehe EN 3645-008, EN 3645-011, EN 3645-012 und EN 3645-006. Diese Steckverbinder wurden von der Bauform Y in der Spezifikation MIL-DTL-38999/21 abgeleitet und sind mit dieser austauschbar.
