Diese Europäische Norm legt die Eigenschaften von Schutzkappen für freie Steckverbinder in der Familie der elektrischen Rundsteckverbinder mit dreigängiger Gewinde-Schnellkupplung fest. Sie gilt für die in Tabelle 2 angegebenen Bauformen. Für die freien Steckverbinder siehe EN 3645-008, EN 3645-011 und EN 3645-012. Diese Steckverbinder wurden von den Bauformen W, F, K und Z in MIL-DTL-38999/32 abgeleitet und sind mit diesen austauschbar.
