Diese Europäische Norm legt die Eigenschaften von freien Steckverbindern mit Masseringen in der Familie der elektrischen Rundsteckverbinder mit dreigängiger Gewinde-Schnellkupplung fest. Sie gilt für die in Tabelle 2 angegebenen Bauformen. Für die mit diesem freien Steckverbinder verwendbare Kontakte, Blindstopfen und Endgehäuse siehe EN 3645-002. Für feste Steckverbinder und Schutzkappen siehe EN 3645-003, EN 3645-004, EN 3645-005, EN 3645-007, EN 3645-009 und EN 3645-010. Diese Steckverbinder wurden von den Bauformen W, J, K, F, M und Z in der Spezifikation MIL-DTL-38999/26 abgeleitet und sind mit diesen austauschbar.
