Diese Europäische Norm legt die allgemeingültigen Eigenschaften, die Qualifikations-, Abnahme- und Qualitätssicherungsbedingungen sowie die Prüfprogramme und -gruppen für Rechtecksteckverbinder mit einem oder mehreren demontierbaren Modul(en) fest, die für den Einsatz in einem Temperaturbereich von -55 °C bis 175 °C konstant bestimmt sind. Diese Steckverbinderfamilie ist besonders geeignet zur Verwendung in der Luftfahrt in Bereichen mit schwierigen Umweltbedingungen an Bord von Luftfahrzeugen entsprechend EN 2282. Die höchste Betriebstemperatur kann durch die Höchsttemperatur von Kontakten begrenzt sein.
