Diese Europäische Norm legt die Eigenschaften von Gelenklagern, Metall auf Metall, schmale Reihe, Inch-Reihe, fest. Sie sind für die Verwendung in starren oder beweglichen Flugwerkteilen und deren Betätigungs-mechanismen bestimmt. Sie müssen im von der Schmierfähigkeit bestimmten Temperaturbereich wie nachfolgend beschrieben verwendet werden: - Kennbuchstabe A: Schmierstoff nach MIL-PRF-23827 Typ I, Betriebstemperaturbereich -73 °C bis 121 °C; - Kennbuchstabe B: Schmierstoff nach MIL-PRF-81322, Betriebstemperaturbereich -54 °C bis 177 °C. Der Anwendungsbereich für Lager, die mit Schmierstoffen nach Kennbuchstabe A geschmiert sind, ist auf 121 °C begrenzt. In beiden Fällen muss auf die Kugelfläche des Außenrings oder Innenrings ein Trockenschmierstoff nach MIL-PRF-46010 oder Ähnliches aufgebracht werden (Schutz gegen Festfressen).
