Dieses Dokument legt die Eigenschaften von ungemusterten und gemusterten Linoleum-Bodenbelägen mit Korkmentrücken fest, die als ein Verbundbodenbelag in Form von Rollen geliefert werden. Um den Verbraucher bei seiner Auswahl zu unterstützen, enthält diese Norm ein Klassifizierungssystem (siehe EN ISO 10874) auf Basis der Nutzungsintensität, das zeigt, wo diese elastischen Bodenbeläge einen zufriedenstellenden Nutzen bieten sollten. Das Dokument legt auch Anforderungen zur Kennzeichnung fest. Der Begriff "Linoleum" wird häufig fälschlicherweise auch für andere Bodenbeläge, oft für solche auf Basis von Polyvinylchlorid oder Elastomeren, verwendet. Derartige Materialien sind nicht in diesem Dokument eingeschlossen.
