Diese Europäische Norm legt Anforderungen an die Sicherheit von Kinderbetten mit einer Innenlänge größer als 900 mm und höchstens 1 400 mm zur Verwendung im Wohnbereich fest. Die Anforderungen gelten für ein vollständig zusammengebautes und gebrauchsfertiges Kinderbett. Für Kinderbetten, die in andere Gegenstände, z. B. Wickeltische, Kinderlaufställe, umgebaut werden können, können zusätzliche Anforderungen gelten. Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für Kindertragetaschen, Krippen und Wiegen, für die eine eigenständige Europäische Norm besteht.
