Diese Tanks sind für den unterirdischen Einbau und die drucklose Lagerung von flüssigen, auf Erdöl basierenden Kraftstoffen vorgesehen. Neben den Anforderungen an die Behälterwerkstoffe werden wesentliche Konstruktions- und Fertigungsmerkmale festgelegt und weiters auch diejenigen geometrischen, mechanischen und chemischen Parameter, welche unter Hinweis auf bestimmte Prüfnormen zu erfüllen sind.
