Dieser Teil der Norm beschreibt ein Prüfverfahren zur Bestimmung der Widerstandsfähigkeit der Farbe von Textilien jeder Art und in allen Verarbeitungszuständen gegen die Einwirkung von Dampf bei Atmosphärendruck. Folgendes Prinzip wird dabei angewendet: Eine Probe des Textilmaterials wird zwischen festgelegte Begleitgewebe gelegt und mit diesen zusammengerollt. Der so hergestellte Prüfling wird in ein Glasrohr eingeführt, das sich im Flaschenhals eines Kolbens mit kochendem Wasser befindet. Das Anbluten der Begleitgewebe wird durch Vergleich mit dem Graumaßstab bewertet.
