Diese Internationale Norm legt die Anforderungen und entsprechenden Prüfverfahren für synthetische und natürliche Eisenglimmer (MIO)-Pigmente in Pulverform fest, die vorrangig in Korrosionsschutzbeschichtungen für Stahlbauten verwendet werden. Entsprechend der gegenwärtigen Praxis wurden die allgem,einen Anforderungen an Eisenglimmer-Pigmente unterteilt in a) unbedingt einzuhaltende Anforderungen (siehe Tabelle 2) und b) Anforderungen, die durch Vereinbarung zwischen den Vertragspartnern festgelegt werden können (siehe Tabelle 3). In bestimmten Fällen darf auf ein vereinbartes Bezugspigment Bezug genommen werden.
