Die vorliegende Norm gilt für flexible gewellte Metallschläuche, die als Schutz für elektrische Leitungen in explosionsgefährdeten oder feuergefährlichen Atmosphären eingesetzt werden können. Diese Schläuche können als statischer Schutz verwendet werden oder als Schutz für gelegentlich oder weniger als einmal wöchentlich bewegte Leitungen. Diese Norm gibt Anleitungen für den Gebrauch dieser Schläuche (siehe Anhang A) und beschreibt die für eine Typ-Zulassung erforderlichen Prüfungen (siehe Anhang B).
