Dieses Dokument legt Anforderungen für 12 Klassen von kugeligen Stahlguss-Strahlmitteln mit niedrigem Kohlenstoffgehalt für Strahlprozesse fest. Für Härte, scheinbare Dichte, Defekte, Anforderungen an das Gefüge und chemische Zusammensetzung sind Werte festgelegt. Die in diesem Dokument festgelegten Anforderungen gelten nur für im "Neuzustand" gelieferte, unbenutzte Strahlmittel. Sie gelten nicht für Strahlmittel während oder nach der Verwendung. Prüfverfahren für metallische Strahlmittel sind in den verschiedenen Teilen von ISO 11125 enthalten. Kugelige Stahlguss-Strahlmittel mit niedrigem Kohlenstoffgehalt werden sowohl in stationären als auch in beweglichen Strahlanlagen verwendet. Sie werden am häufigsten dann gewählt, wenn Vorrichtungen zum Aufbereiten und Wiederverwenden vorhanden sind.
