Diese Europäische Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Langzeitbeständigkeit einer verrottungshemmenden Ausrüstung gegen Mikroorganismen im Erdboden fest. Sie erlaubt eine Unterscheidung zwischen verrottungshemmenden Ausrüstungen ohne Langzeitbeständigkeit, mit normaler Langzeitbeständigkeit und mit erhöhter Langzeitbeständigkeit zur Ermittlung der Tropentauglichkeit. Da der Erdeingrabetest ein biologischer Vorgang ist und die Prüferde nicht genau festgelegt ist, deckt diese Europäische Norm nur ausgerüstete und nicht ausgerüstete Messproben ab.
