Dieses Dokument legt die Anforderungen an Wasserdichtheit, Lenzzeit und Süllhöhe für wasserdichte und schnell-lenzende Rezesse und Plichten in kleinen Wasserfahrzeugen mit einer Länge der Ladelinie von bis zu 24 m fest (siehe Verweisung [1]). Rezesse, die an erhöhten Teilen des Wasserfahrzeugs liegen, werden von diesem Dokument abgedeckt. Dieses Dokument legt keine Anforderungen für die Größe, die Form und den Ort von Rezessen oder Plichten fest. Es berücksichtigt nur Entwässerung durch Schwerkraft und nicht durch Abpumpen oder andere Verfahren. Es berücksichtigt nur den normalen Betrieb des Wasserfahrzeugs, aber ungelöste Probleme mit Rezessen bei unbemannten Wasserfahrzeugen liegen außerhalb des Anwendungsbereichs. Dieses Dokument stellt nicht sicher, dass Wasser in einem wasserdichten oder schnell-lenzenden Rezess oder einer Plicht nicht die Stabilität und den Auftrieb des Wasserfahrzeugs beeinträchtigt. Dies wird durch ISO 12217:2015 (alle Teile) abgedeckt.
