Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Wachsgehalts von Olivenölen und Oliventresterölen als Massenanteil in Milligramm je Kilogramm fest. Die jeweiligen Wachse werden anhand der Anzahl von Kohlenstoffatomen unterteilt. Das Verfahren wird empfohlen, um zwischen Olivenöl, das durch Pressen oder Zentrifugieren hergestellt wird, und Olivenöl, das aus Oliventrester hergestellt wird (Oliventresteröl), zu unterscheiden.
