Diese ÖNORM EN ISO legt Anforderungen an die Konstruktion, an Werkstoffe, an Prüf- und Überwachung, an Schweißverfahren sowie an den Betrieb von Bohrgestängen für die Erdöl- und Erdgasindustrie fest. Die Einzelteile solcher Gestänge sind übersichtlich dargestellt. Die Vorgaben für die Austauschbarkeit sind enthalten. In diese ÖNORM wurde die Europäische Berichtigung AC:2006 eingearbeitet. Die wesentlichen Änderungen sind: Zum Vorwort wurde "einschließlich Technische Korrektur 1:2005" hinzugefügt, in den Tabellen 8, 12, 16 und 18 wurden Angaben korrigiert und Bild 6 wurde ersetzt.
