Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Gehaltes an Gesamttryptophan und an freiem Tryptophan (Trp) in Futtermitteln (z. B. Allein- und Ergänzungsfuttermittel, Milchaustausch-Futtermittel, Rohstoffe, Futterbestandteile und Konzentrate) und zur Bestimmung von freiem Tryptophan in handelsüblichen Reinsubstanzen und Vormischungen, die mehr als 2 % Tryptophan enthalten, fest. Bei dem Verfahren wird nicht zwischen D- und L-Formen unterschieden.
