Diese ÖNORM gibt eine Anleitung für eine vereinheitlichte Beschreibung mikrobiologischer Hemmstofftests. Damit soll ein Rahmen und eine Grundlage für die Bewertung/Zulassung mikrobiologischer Hemmstofftests gegeben werden, der einen Vergleich der durch unterschiedliche mikrobiologische Hemmstofftests und experimentelle Studien bereitgestellten Daten ermöglicht. Das Verfahren gilt für Rohmilch, teilentrahmte Milch, wärmebehandelte Milch und für Lösungen aus Milchpulver. Das Verfahren ist ebenso geeignet für ähnliche Milch und Milchprodukte anderer Tiere. Das Verfahren gilt nicht für Milchprodukte wie Butter, Käse und Sauermilch.
