Diese Internationale Norm beschreibt Anforderungen, die Konstruktion und den Einbau flexibler Rohrleitungsteile (z. B. biegsames Metall-Rohr, Metall-Schlauch, Schwingungsabsorber, Kompensator) und für Nichtmetall-Schläuche in Kältemittelkreisläufen von Kälteanlagen und Wärmepumpen. Sie legt auch Anforderungen zur Bestimmung der Dichtigkeit und Permeabilität von Nichtmetall-Schläuchen (z. B. Kunststoff) fest, die in Verdunstungs- und/oder kondensierenden Seiten von Kälteanlagen und Wärmepumpen angewendet werden. Diese Internationale Norm gilt nicht für biegsame Rohre, die nur gelegentlich über ihre Elastizitätsgrenze hinaus beansprucht werden (z. B. bei Reparaturen) oder für drehbar gelagerte Verbindungen oder Rohrgelenke.
