In dieser Norm sind Anforderungen für Gummi- und Kunststoffschläuche und Schlauchleitungen für Druck- oder Flüssiggase bis zu einem maximalen Betriebsdruck von 450 bar (45 MPa) im Bereich der Umgebungstemperatur zwischen -20 °C bis +60 °C festgelegt. Diese Norm ist anwendbar für Hochdruckschlauchleitungen, welche verwendet werden, um industrielle Gas-flaschen oder Bündel ohne Hauptstellendruckregler zu Batterien zusammenzuschließen. Diese Norm gilt nicht für Gummi- oder thermoplastische Schläuche für Schweißen, Schneiden und verwandte Prozesse (siehe ISO 3821 und ISO 12170). Diese Norm gilt nicht für tiefkalte verflüssigte Gase oder LPG (en: liquified petroleum gases) (Flüssiggas).
