Diese Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der scheinbaren interlaminaren Scherfestigkeit (ILSS) von faserverstärkten Kunststoffen nach dem Dreipunktverfahren mit kurzem Balken fest. Das Verfahren ist anwendbar auf faserverstärkte duroplastische und thermoplastische Verbundwerkstoffe, die unidirektionale oder nicht unidirektionale Verstärkungen enthalten, wie Matten, Rovings, Gewebe, gewobene Rovings, Schnittfasern, Kombinations- und Mischverstärkungen und Tafeln aus vorgetränkten Werkstoffen (Prepregs). Das Verfahren ist zur Festlegung konstruktiver Größen ungeeignet, darf jedoch zur Vorauswahl von Werkstoffen oder zur Qualitätskontrolle verwendet werden. Die scheinbare interlaminare Scherfestigkeit schwankt in Abhängigkeit von der Dicke (Höhe) des Probekörpers. Um Vergleiche zu ermöglichen, müssen stets Probekörper mit der gleichen Dicke verwendet werden.
