Diese Norm beschreibt Proben und Verfahren für das Prüfen der Schwingfestigkeit von Punktschweißverbindungen bei Raumtemperatur unter wiederholten Zugbeanspruchungen, um entweder Scherzug- oder Kopfzugbeanspruchungen von Punktschweißverbindungen an Stahlblechen mit Dicken von 0,5 mm bis 6 mm herbeizuführen. Die Prüfergebnisse sind im Allgemeinen nicht direkt auf die Schwingfestigkeit von punktgeschweißten Baugruppen oder Bauteilen übertragbar. Dieses Verfahren kann für andere Werkstoffe angewendet werden, wenn geeignete Prüfbedingungen (z.B. Wärme) festgelegt worden sind.
