Diese Internationale Norm beschreibt ein Verfahren zur Messung der Bruchdehnung keramischer Schichten durch einachsige Zug- oder Druckprüfung, gekoppelt mit akustischer Emission zum Überwachen des Beginns der Rissbildung in der Schicht. Dehnungen unter Zug oder Druck können auch durch Biegung in einer Vier-Punkt-Biegeprüfung aufgebracht werden. Die Messungen können in günstigen Fällen bei erhöhten Temperaturen als auch bei Raumtemperatur durchgeführt werden.
