Diese Internationale Norm legt einen Leitfaden für die Anwendung von Screeningverfahren, die zur Bestimmung des Gehalts an Aflatoxin M1 in Milch und Milchprodukten angewendet werden und deren Grundlage kompetitive Enzym-Immunoassays sind, fest. Zur Erfüllung gesetzlicher Auflagen ist bei den Ergebnissen kompetitiver Enzym-Immunoassays die Bestä- tigung durch ein anerkanntes Referenzverfahren erforderlich. Kompetitive Enzym-Immunoassays können jedoch (abhängig davon, ob der Test den im Weiteren angegebenen Spezifikationen entspricht) für die Routine-Qualitätskontrolle verwendet werden, besonders wenn das Nichtvorhandensein von Rückständen von Aflatoxin M1 oberhalb des durch Bestimmungen festgelegten Grenzwerts nachzuweisen ist.
