Dieses Dokument legt ein Verfahren fest, mit dem unter definierten Bedingungen der Widerstand einer einzelnen Schicht oder eines Mehrschichtsystems aus Beschichtungsstoffen gegen das Eindringen eines mit einem festgelegten Gewichtstück belasteten Ritzstichels bestimmt wird. Der Ritzstichel dringt bis zum Substrat ein, außer bei Mehrschichtsystemen, bei denen der Ritzstichel entweder bis zum Substrat oder nur bis zu einer Zwischenschicht eindringen kann. Das festgelegte Verfahren kann durchgeführt werden a) entweder als "ja/nein"-Prüfung mit nur einer festgelegten Last auf dem Ritzstichel, um die Übereinstimmung mit einer bestimmten Spezifikation festzustellen, oder b) als Einstufungsprüfung durch Bestimmung der Mindestlast, unter der der Ritzstichel die Beschichtung bis zum Substrat durchdringt, wobei der Ritzstichel zunehmend belastet wird.
