Diese Prüfung wurde zum Vergleich der Kratzbeständigkeit unterschiedlicher Beschichtungen als nützlich befunden. Sie ist besonders geeignet, wenn bei einer Reihe beschichteter Probenplatten mit deutlich unterschiedlicher Kratzbeständigkeit relative Einstufungen erhalten werden sollen.
