Der vorliegende Teil von ISO 15186 legt ein Schallintensitätsverfahren zur Bestimmung des Schalldämm-Maßes und der Norm-Schallpegeldifferenz von Bauteilen fest. Das Verfahren kann alternativ zu den Verfahren gemäß ISO 140-3 bzw. ISO 140-10 eingesetzt werden. Das Verfahren wird insbesondere dann eingesetzt, wenn das herkömmliche Verfahren nach ISO 140-3 wegen hoher Flankenübertragung versagt. Es wird angenommen, dass die Reproduzierbarkeit dieses Intensitätsverfahrens gleich oder besser als die des Verfahrens gemäß ISO 140-3 ist.
