Diese Norm legt die Anforderungen an einen Prüfstand zur Bestimmung des Feuerwiderstandes von Schlauchleitungen, insbesondere durch Prüfung nach ISO 15540, bis mindestens Nennweite 100 fest. Während der Flammeneinwirkung sind Überdrücke bis 10 bar möglich. Mit einem Prüfstand nach dieser Norm kann die Flammenausbreitung auf dem Schlauch nicht geprüft werden. Als Prüfmedium wurde nur Wasser zugelassen. Die Verwendung von brennbaren Prüfmedien wurde ausgeschlossen, um die Sicherheit von Bedienungspersonal und Prüfstand bei einem Schaden am Schlauch während der Prüfung nicht unnötig einzuschränken.
