Dieses Dokument legt ein Verfahren zum Bewerten des Widerstands eines Beschichtungssystems gegen Ablösen fest, wenn ein rechtwinkliges Gitter (Gitterschnitt) in die Beschichtung geschnitten oder die Beschichtung mit einem Kreuzschnitt versehen wird, wobei die Schnitte jeweils bis zum Substrat durchgehen. Dieses Dokument ist nur anwendbar, wenn das Gitter- oder Kreuzschnittprüfverfahren zusammen mit dem Kennwert nach der entsprechenden Bewertungsskala festgelegt ist. Dieses Dokument legt auch geeignete Ausrüstungen fest und definiert Inspektionsflächen, Messpläne sowie Kriterien für die Annahme/Ablehnung. Es legt keine Kennwerte für bestimmte Beschichtungssysteme fest.
