Diese Internationale Norm ist für die Beurteilung der Homogenität der Gd-Verteilung in Gadolinium-Brennstoffgemischen und die Bestimmung des Gehalts von Gd2O3 in gesinterten Brennstofftabletten von Gd2O3 + UO2 von 1 % bis 10 % durch Messung von Gadolinium-(Gd-) und Uran-(U-)Elementen mit ICP-AES anwendbar. Nach der Durchführung von Messungen von Gd- und U-Elementen mit ICP-AES kann bei zusätzlicher Anwendung von statistischen Verfahren ebenfalls die Homogenität der Gd-Verteilung in einem Gd-Brennstofftabletten-Los beurteilt werden. Diese Internationale Norm behandelt jedoch die statistischen Verfahren nur eingeschränkt.
