Diese ÖNORM legt die Merkmale der bei Systemen der Gebäudeautomation eingesetzten Software und Funktionen sowie ein Verfahren für die Dokumentation der Planung fest. Weiters enthält diese ÖNORM Leitlinien für die technische Bearbeitung. Anhang A legt eine Vorlage für die Dokumentation der anlagen-/anwendungsspezifischen Datenpunkte und Funktionen, genannt GA-Funktionsliste, fest. Die informativen Funktionsblock-Beispiele dienen zur Erläuterung eines Verfahrens, wie die entsprechenden Funktionen in einer Anlagendokumentation darstellbar sind.
