Zweck ist es, die Übereinstimmung des Istwertes mit dem angezeigten Hochspannungswert am Steuergerät des Röntgensystems festzustellen. Dieses Verfahren wird angewendet, um eine reproduzierbare Arbeit mit Röntgensystemen sicherzustellen, denn die Hochspannung beeinflusst insbesondere die Materialdurchdringung und den Kontrast von Röntgenbildern und darüber hinaus auch die Anforderungen im Hinblick auf den Strahlenschutz.
