Dieses Dokument legt Prüfeinrichtungen und Verfahren zur Bestimmung der langzeitigen Wasseraufnahme von Probekörpern durch Diffusion fest. Es gilt für Wärmedämmstoffe. Das Prüfverfahren simuliert die Wasseraufnahme von Produkten, die auf beiden Seiten einer hohen relativen Luftfeuchte bis 100 % sowie über eine lange Zeit einer Wasserdampfteildruckdifferenz ausgesetzt werden, wie z. B. im "Umkehrdach" oder bei der ungeschützten Wärmedämmung zum Erdreich. Dieses Prüfverfahren ist nicht für alle Typen von Wärmedämmstoffen anwendbar. Daher sollte in der entsprechenden Produktnorm angegeben werden, für welche der in ihr beschriebenen Produkte dieses Prüfverfahren anwendbar ist.
