Dieses Dokument legt lineare Spline-Filter zur Filterung von Oberflächenprofilen fest. Es legt insbesondere fest, wie langwellige und kurzwellige Anteile von Oberflächenprofilen getrennt werden. Die für geschlossene Profile dargestellten Konzepte sind für den Fall der Rundheitsfilterung anwendbar. Diese Konzepte können gegebenenfalls auf verallgemeinerte geschlossene Profile erweitert werden, insbesondere für Oberflächenprofile mit Wiederholungsmerkmalen. Beispiele für die Anwendung des Spline-Filters sind in Anhang A angegeben. Der Einfluss der Spannungskenngröße ß auf den langwelligen Anteil des Oberflächenprofils ist in Anhang B dargestellt.
