Diese Internationale Norm legt Probenmaße, Prüfeinrichtung und Prüfverfahren für Torsionsversuche an Widerstandspunktschweißverbindungen mit Einzelblechdicken im Bereich von 0,5 mm bis 6,0 mm an Stählen fest. Sie kann unter bestimmten Umständen auch für Nichteisenwerkstoffe angewendet werden. Das Ziel dieser Internationalen Norm besteht in der Bestimmung des Schweißpunktdurchmessers und der Bruchart an gebrochenen Proben und in der Bewertung des Einflusses der verschiedenen Stahlwerkstoffe, der Schweißparameter und anderer Faktoren auf die Verformungsfähigkeit einer Widerstandspunktschweißverbindung.
