Dieses Dokument umfasst technische Anforderungen in Bezug auf Reparatur- und Wartungs-informationssysteme (RMI), die der Standardisierung des Zugangs zu RMI durch unabhängige Markt-teilnehmer dienen. Dieses Dokument legt eine Reihe von Mindestanforderungen in Bezug auf das RMI-System eines Fahrzeugherstellers fest. Diese Anforderungen spiegeln die Bedürfnisse wider, die von den in ISO 18541-1 festgelegten Anwendungsfällen abgeleitet sind. Zusätzlich legt dieses Dokument Anforderungen zur Gewährung von Zugriffsrechten für sicherheitsrelevante RMI in Anhang A fest, welche dem SERMI-Schema folgen. Dieses Dokument ist anzuwenden für leichte Kraftfahrzeuge und Nutzfahrzeuge nach Verordnung (EG) 715/2007, Artikel 2.
