Diese Internationale Norm legt die Mess- und Bewertungsverfahren für gasförmige Emissionen und Partikelemissionen von Hubkolben-Verbrennungsmotoren (RIC-Motoren) unter stationären Bedingungen auf einem Prüfstand fest, die für die Bestimmung eines leistungsbezogenen Emissionswertes jeder Schadstoffkomponente im Abgas notwendig sind. Verschiedene Kombinationen aus Motorlast und -drehzahl geben die unterschiedlichen Motoranwendungen wieder. Diese Internationale Norm gilt für RIC-Bootsmotoren, die für den Einbau in kleine Wasserfahrzeuge bis zu einer Rumpflänge von 24 m vorgesehen sind.
