Dieses Dokument legt ein Screening-Verfahren für den Nachweis der Staphylokokken-Enterotoxine SEA, SEB, SECs, SED und SEE in Lebensmitteln fest. Es besteht aus zwei Hauptschritten: a) Extraktion gefolgt von einer auf dem Dialyseprinzip beruhenden Konzentration, und b) ein immunenzymatischer Nachweis unter Anwendung handelsüblicher Nachweiskits. Dieses Dokument ist anwendbar für das Screening von Staphylokokken-Enterotoxinen SEA bis SEE in Produkten, die für den menschlichen Verzehr bestimmt sind. Andere Staphylokokken-Enterotoxine wie z. B. die Arten SEG, SEH, SEI, SER, SES und SET können auch Krankheiten verursachen. Aufgrund fehlender handelsüblicher Nachweiskits behandelt dieses Dokument nur die Typen SEA bis SEE, es kann jedoch vorbehaltlich der Validierung der Methode für andere Typen von Toxinen anwendbar sein.
