Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Verfahren zur quantitativen Bestimmung des Gesamtiods in Säuglingsnahrung und Nahrungsergänzungsmitteln für Erwachsene fest. Dieses Verfahren ist für die Messung des Gesamtiods in Säuglingsnahrung und Nahrungsergänzungsmitteln für Erwachsene im Bereich von 0,5 µg/100 g bis 1 500 µg/100 g des wiederaufbereiteten Endprodukts und für Fertignahrungserzeugnisse im Bereich von 2,5 µg/100 g bis 1 000 µg/100 g mittels ICP-MS anwendbar. Das Verfahren wurde einem Ringversuch unter Verwendung verschiedener Säuglingsnahrungsprodukte und Nahrungsergänzungsmittel für Erwachsene unterzogen. Die erhaltenen Gehalte lagen im Bereich von 3,47 µg/100 g bis 124 µg/100 g.
