Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Probennahme, Probenkonditionierung und Bestimmung des Gehalts von Distickstoff-monoxid in Abgasen, die aus Kanälen und Kaminen in die Atmosphäre emittiert werden, fest. Sie beschreibt das nicht-dispersive Infrarot-Analysenverfahren (NDIR), einschließlich der Probennahme- und Probenkonditionierungseinrichtung. Das in dieser ISO-Norm beschriebene Verfahren kann als Referenzverfahren für die periodische Überwachung und für die Kalibrierung, Justierung und Kontrolle von automatischen, dauerhaft im Abgaskanal installierten Messeinrichtungen eingesetzt werden. Dieses Referenzverfahren wurde in einem Feldtest an einer Klärschlammverbrennungsanlage geprüft. Es wurde für N2O-Konzentrationen im Bereich von 0 mg/qm bis 400 mg/qm validiert.
