Dieses Dokument legt ein Verfahren mit Anreicherung zum Nachweis von Enterobacteriaceae fest. Es gilt für - Produkte, die für den menschlichen Verzehr oder als Futtermittel bestimmt sind sowie - Umgebungsproben im Bereich der Primärproduktion, der Herstellung von Lebensmitteln und beim Umgang mit Lebensmitteln. Das Verfahren ist anwendbar - wenn davon auszugehen ist, dass die gesuchten Mikroorganismen einer Wiederbelebung durch Anreicherung bedürfen und - wenn die gesuchte Anzahl voraussichtlich unter 100 je Milliliter oder je Gramm der Untersuchungsprobe liegt. Eine Beschränkung der Anwendbarkeit dieses Dokuments wird bedingt durch die Anfälligkeit des Verfahrens für ein hohes Maß an Variabilität.
