Dieses Dokument legt Anforderungen für Konstruktion, minimale Sicherheit, für Funktion und Kennzeichnung, sowie Schnittstellentypen und Maße und Prüfverfahren für LNG Trockenkupplungen fest, die LNG Schlauchbunkersystemen dienen und für LNG Bunkerschiffe, Tanklastwagen und land-basierte Anlagen und andere Bunkerinfrastrukturen bestimmt sind. Es ist nicht anwendbar auf hydraulisch betätigte Schnellkupplungen (QCDC, en: Quick Connect/Disconnect Coupler), die für feste Verladearme Verwendung finden und in ISO 16904 abgedeckt sind. Basierend auf der Technologie, die zum Zeitpunkt der Erstellung dieses Dokuments in der industriellen Fertigung verwendet wurde, ist es für Kupplungsgrößen von DN 25 bis DN 200 anwendbar.
