Diese Internationale Norm beschreibt ein Verfahren zur Feststellung, inwieweit flüssige Mineralölerzeugnisse und bestimmte Lösemittel auf Kupfer korrosiv wirken. Eingeschlossen sind flüchtige Erzeugnise mit einem Dampfdruck von höchstens 124 kPa bei 37,8 "C. Flüchtige Erzeugnisse mit einem Dampfdruck der höher ist als 124 kPa bei 37,8 "CI sollten nach ISO 6251 geprüft werden (siehe folgenden Achtungshinweis). Isolieröle sollten nach ISO 5662 geprüft werden. Achtung : Bei einigen Produkten, besonders bei Rohbenzinen, kann ein wesentlich höherer Dampfdruck entstehen als für ihre Klasse charakteristisch ist, sogar wenn er niedriger ist als 124 kPa bei 37,8 "C. Deshalb ist extreme Vorsicht geboten, um sicherzustellen, daß der Druckbehälter, der einen solchen Stoff enthält, nicht in ein 100 "C heißes Bad gestellt wird. Bei solchen Proben kann sich bei 100 "C so viel Druck entwickeln, daß der Druckbehälter ause i n an de r b i rs t und Schaden u n d/ode r Verletzungen ve ru rsac h t .
