Dieses Dokument legt Anforderungen an die Inspektion und Instandhaltung von Ventilen [einschließlich Kugelventilen und Ventilen mit integriertem Druckregler (VIPR, en: valve with integrated pressure regulator)] für a) wiederbefüllbare ortsbewegliche Gasflaschen, b) Flaschenbündel, c) Druckfässer und Großflaschen, zum Transport verdichteter, verflüssigter oder unter Druck gelöster Gase fest. Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für Ventile für Flüssiggas (LPG, en: liquefied petroleum gas). Dieses Dokument ist für Ventile anwendbar, die zum Zeitpunkt der wiederkehrenden Inspektion von Gasflaschen, Flaschenbündeln, Druckfässern und Großflaschen wiederverwendet werden, und kann zu jedem anderen Zeitpunkt angewendet werden, z. B. bei einem Wechsel der Gasart (siehe ISO 11621). Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für die Routineinspektion von Ventilen, die z. B. zum Zeitpunkt einer Gasflaschenbefüllung durchgeführt wird.
