Dieses Dokument legt ein Verfahren zum Bestimmen des Widerstandes einer Beschichtung gegen die Kratzbeanspruchung durch einen üblicherweise handgeführten, belasteten Stichel fest. Die Prüfung kann durchgeführt werden mit einem Kugelstichel (Verfahren A) oder mit einem Scheibenstichel (Verfahren B). Beide Verfahren sind allgemein anwendbar und können auch im Feld sowie an gekrümmten Oberflächen eingesetzt werden. Das Verfahren A ist auch auf kleinen Proben (Mindestformat 30 mm × 50 mm) anwendbar. Die Prüfung kann als "ja/nein"-Prüfung (Prüfvorgabe I) oder als Einstufungsprüfung (Prüfvorgabe II) durchgeführt werden.
