Es werden Maße, Toleranzen, Anforderungen an die Gewindeform und Bezeichnung von Rohrgewinden für nicht im Gewinde dichtende Verbindungen der Gewinde-Nenngrößen 1/16 bis 6 festgelegt. Die zylindrischen Innen- und Außengewinde dienen zur mechanischen Verbindung der Teile von Fittings, Hähnen und Ventilen, Zubehör u.dgl. Wenn Verbindungen mit solchen Gewinden druckdicht sein müssen, so kann das durch das Gegeneinanderpressen zweier Dichtflächen außerhalb der Gewinde und durch Zwischenlegen einer geeigneten Dichtung erreicht werden.
