Dieses Dokument legt die Anforderungen an Sicherheit, Konstruktion und Leistung sowie die Prüfung von automatischen und halbautomatischen Ventilen für Öl fest. Es ist anzuwenden für automatische und halbautomatische Ventile, die: - normal schließen; - in Verbrennungsanlagen eingesetzt werden, um den Öldurchfluss mit oder ohne Verzögerung des Schließvorgangs zu unterbrechen; - für den Einsatz mit Ölsorten ohne Benzin (z. B. Diesel, Rohöl, Schweröl oder Kerosin) vorgesehen sind; - für die Anwendung an Brennern oder in Geräten vorgesehen sind, die Öl nutzen; - direkt oder indirekt elektrisch oder durch mechanische oder hydraulische Hilfsmittel betrieben werden; - mit Anzeigen für die Geschlossenstellung ausgestattet sind oder nicht.
