Textilmaschinen mit signifikanter Lärmgefährdung sind in der Normenreihe ISO 11111 (alle Teile) festgelegt. Diese Internationale Norm unterstützt den Konstrukteur bei der Entwicklung geräuscharmer Textilmaschinen. Hierzu werden die signifikanten Geräuschquellen der einzelnen Textilmaschinenarten und geeignete Lärmminderungsmaßnahmen beschrieben. Einrichtungen, die für den Betrieb der Textilmaschine benötigt werden, die aber nicht Teil der Textilmaschine sind, werden von dieser Internationalen Norm nicht erfasst (z. B. Einrichtungen für den Transport des Prozessmaterials, Einrichtungen zur Bereitstellung von Medien).
