Dieser Teil von ISO 23900 legt ein Verfahren zum Bestimmen des Grades der Dispergierung eines Farbmittels in einem thermoplastischen Kunststoff fest. Das Verfahren ist für die Prüfung von Farbmitteln in Form von Farbkonzentraten in allen Kunststoffen geeignet, die für Extrusions- und Schmelz-Spinnverfahren eingesetzt werden. Der mit diesem Verfahren bestimmte Druckfilterwert (en: filter pressure value, FPV) gilt nur für die angewendeten Geräte, Bedingungen und den zu prüfenden Kunststoff. Die Anwendung anderer als der festgelegten Prüfbedingungen könnte zu unterschiedlichen Ergebnissen führen. Die Herstellung des Farbkonzentrates wird in diesem Teil von ISO 23900 nicht beschrieben. Deshalb sind die Prüfergebnisse der einzelnen Farbmittel nur dann vergleichbar, wenn dasselbe Verfahren zum Herstellen des Farbkonzentrates verwendet wurde.
