Dieses Dokument legt die mechanischen und physikalischen Eigenschaften von wärmebehandelten Blechschrauben aus Stahl mit Gewindegrößen von ST2,2 bis ST9,5 nach ISO 1478 fest, wenn sie im Umgebungstemperaturbereich von 10 °C bis 35 °C geprüft werden, sowie die zugehörigen Prüfverfahren. Blechschrauben sind so ausgelegt, dass sie in Metallblechen Gegengewinde formen, ohne dass dabei ihre eigenen Gewinde verformt werden. Blechschrauben sind konstruktiv nicht dafür vorgesehen, vorgespannt zu werden, auch wenn sie nach der Montage mehr oder weniger starken Zugspannungen ausgesetzt sein können.
